GHOST II Immobiliser (London)

GHOST II Immobiliser (London)

Thinking about installing a GPS tracker to your vehicle for added peace of mind against theft? Not sure that the benefits of a tracker alone will be enough for your needs? Then ineedatracker.com recommends that you consider combining  tracker with a ghost immobiliser. Specifically, an S7 Asset Location tracker with the Ghost II Immobiliser from Autowatch.

Autowatch – Company background

Autowatch UK have been supplying Autowatch branded vehicle security systems to specialist auto-electrical companies since 1993.

Their parent company, PFK Electronics (PTY) Limited was established way back in 1985 by a group of engineers with a strong grounding in design and manufacturing of military electronics.

This high level of expertise in microprocessor and radio-based systems has given PFK Electronics the ability to meet international homologation standards. The resulting range of vehicle security products offer 'no-compromise' solutions for the protection of vehicles around the world today.

After many years of research and development, this has culminated in Autowatch bringing to market, the revolutionary Ghost II Immobiliser system, the original aftermarket CAN bus immobiliser which allows you to protect your car from theft like nothing else on available.

How does the system work?

The Autowatch Ghost system is integrated with the vehicle’s on-board CAN data network and immobilises the engine by communicating with the ECU, the vehicles “brain”. Using the buttons in your vehicle such as those on the steering wheel, door panels or centre console, the immobiliser allows you to make a unique, changeable, disarm sequence (like a PIN code) that must first be entered before you can drive your car.

Further convenience can be had by installing the mobile application to your smartphone to enable quick disarm.

For instances where your vehicle is passed over to someone else such as a Service Centre, the Valet Mode can be activated to allow a third party to drive the vehicle yet ensures that the disarm sequence does not get compromised. Should the disarm sequence be compromised, it is user changeable and if the sequence should be forgotten, there is a unique emergency code which can be entered as a back-up.

What are the benefits?

The Ghost II is TASSA approved and is only distributed to installers who are registered. TASSA is an organisation that maintains and improves standards within the Automotive Security industry and ensures that all registered installers have passed DBS checks, are trained and insured to install the Ghost II immobiliser. This gives customers the added confidence that not only does the system give a high standard of protection but also that the Engineer carrying out the work has a high degree of integrity and can be trusted.

You will be happy to read that ineedatracker.com are registered with TASSA and once we have installed the Ghost to your vehicle, you will enjoy protection from key-cloning, hacking, and even key theft. As the device does not transmit any radio signals, it is also unaffected by signal jammers and is resistant to hacking.

Because the system has no key-fobs or LED indications to give away its location or the fact that it is installed in the first place, making this a completely undetectable line of defence against theft.

Put simply, if you install the Ghost II with an S7 tracker, you can prevent vehicle theft in the first instance with the immobiliser system but also have the back-up of being able to track your car if it was physically towed away by a thief or your disarm sequence was compromised.

Once installed, the Ghost does not require any ongoing subscription which when combined with an S7 tracker system, gives you a much more sophisticated security solution in a very cost-effective way.
